August Product Roadmap

Product roadmap: August 2022

Every month, our product team publishes what they’re currently working on and thinking about.

Recent improvements

In the past six weeks, we worked hard to release several improvements to the Disciple platform:

  • Events now contain a timezone, meaning that members will see the event time in both at the event location, and their local timezone.
  • Members have more control over their data, and can now delete their accounts directly from their app
  • Members now have more control over the notifications that they receive, and can now choose not to receive push notifications for various events such as likes and comments

What you can expect to see in September

We’ve been focussing on improving our existing features and capabilities, and you will continue to see the fruits of this in the next month.

The desktop view of your community will be changing to better use the screen size of these devices. We will be increasing the width of most pages, and moving the ‘More’ menu to the left-hand side of the page. You can preview this new layout by finding the link on the ‘Members’ page of the console. This change does not affect how your community appears on mobile devices.

To better serve international communities, the member-facing apps (web, iOS, and Android) are being updated to support additional languages. This means that the main labels and communications (such as the heading for the activity feed, groups; and registration or password reset emails) can match the community’s or an individual’s native language. Your community’s language will be either enforced at the community level (i.e. all members see a single language), or can be set to adapt to the language that the member’s device uses. The initial languages that will be available at the launch of this improvement will be English, French, and Spanish.

The multi-plan subscription upgrade is being rolled out to some beta communities now, and will be released to all communities in the next 4 to 6 weeks. If you’d like to join the beta and get access to this feature now, please send us your details.

In the next few months

We’ll continue our work on improving the existing features for the next couple of months. Later this year, Member onboarding will be a core focus, as well as a refresh of the console’s look & feel and improvements to the way Folders work for both members and hosts. As always, we have time set aside to address smaller tactical improvements as they come up, so our development teams will be looking to the suggestions previously submitted to Nolt, the Collective, and our Customer Success team to find where we can best spend this time.
