Why Hōm Chose Disciple
Hōm is a holistic digital home for the modern mom. It’s founder, Crystal Sol Hays created their app with Disciple with the intention of providing moms with a safe space to support each other mentally, physically, and emotionally so together, they can thrive in the modern world.
Their app is a collective of holistic practitioners, mental health specialists, and mind-body-spirit guides who serve moms on their journey and changing life rhythms via videos, audios, and a buzzing online community.
Hōm came to Disciple because they felt increasingly dissatisfied with the algorithms on mainstream social media platforms. Everything from cutting through the chaotic newsfeeds and oversaturated advertising those platforms produced lead them to explore other options.
They desired a private community platform that they owned, managed, and controlled. A space that catered for genuine connections and one which housed an inclusive community that truly made a difference to moms and their families.
Since launching their community app with Disciple, Hōm has significantly grown its number of members. Relationships with members are also more personal and they’ve noticed that the interactions amongst members are much more meaningful.
Hōm leverages Disciple’s Livestream capabilities to host online workshops and spark conversations. They’ve also maximized the use of personalized profile options during signups to get to know their members and interests more intimately and ensure the best user experience. Another key feature they’ve experimented with is removing the ‘like’ button feature. They’re currently exploring the psychology behind the ‘like’ button and what a community looks like without that reactive tactic.
